But with films, ideas, and perspectives.
REEL X invites you to discover the unknown—where moving images and ideas meet, and where a short film can be the beginning of an entirely new perspective.

Application
Participation
All directors, producers, etc. are eligible to participate in the competition, regardless of age, gender, or nationality. All entries in each category must reflect the theme of the festival.
Works of any type and language may participate in the competition only with English subtitles, provided that they were made after January 1, 2023. Each author may participate in the competition with a maximum of one work.
Festival theme
The theme of the festival is "What we think about ourselves and our environment."
With its 2026 edition, the REEL X Film Festival promotes film culture as a powerful tool for strengthening the identity and values of local communities, conveying their most attractive features.
Categories
We distinguish between six categories.

The REEL X short film festival invites you to discover the unknown.
A festival where, at the intersection of thought and moving images, the dialogue between imagination and reality creates new worlds. Now it's your turn to redefine boundaries with your story. Ask questions, give answers, and show your world to the world.

3) Animated films (max. 20 minutes)
4) Short animated films (max. 5 minutes)
5) Experimental and hybrid works (max. 20 minutes)
6) Category for students of universities, academies, and film schools (max. 30 minutes)
